Developer API & Agent Tooling
Automate SMS verification in CI/CD pipelines with REST API endpoints and native Model Context Protocol (MCP) tooling.

All messages received on public numbers are viewable by anyone loading the inbox. Do not use these numbers for sensitive, financial, or personal accounts such as banking, medical portals, or primary email recovery.
Frequently Asked Questions
Developer FAQ →Yes. All public phone numbers listed in the SMSRiver directory are 100% free to use. There are no registration forms, no subscriptions, and no credit cards required to view incoming text messages.
No account registration or login is required to access public numbers. You can simply copy a number, paste it into your registration form, and read the code in the public inbox stream. Accounts are only needed if you require programmatic REST API keys, MCP server access, or synthetic test webhooks.
Public numbers may receive verification messages from supported services, but each service decides whether to accept a shared number. If a service rejects one line, you can try another number from the directory.
Native lines can receive messages as carrier events arrive. Aggregated public inboxes update when refreshed and may depend on the source provider. Use “Check for New SMS” to request an update.
The SMSRiver MCP Server allows AI assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity) to query available phone numbers, inspect inboxes, and dispatch synthetic SMS events directly inside your coding workflow without manually copying OTP codes.
