2

Submit to the Service

Paste the copied E.164 number into your registration form or verification prompt.

3

Messages stream into the dedicated inbox in real time. Copy the verification code with one click.

Public Security & Privacy Notice

All messages received on public numbers are viewable by anyone loading the inbox. Do not use these numbers for sensitive, financial, or personal accounts such as banking, medical portals, or primary email recovery.

Frequently Asked Questions

Developer FAQ →
Are the public phone numbers free to use?
Yes. All public phone numbers listed in the SMSRiver directory are 100% free to use. There are no registration forms, no subscriptions, and no credit cards required to view incoming text messages.
Do I need to create an account?
No account registration or login is required to access public numbers. You can simply copy a number, paste it into your registration form, and read the code in the public inbox stream. Accounts are only needed if you require programmatic REST API keys, MCP server access, or synthetic test webhooks.
Can I use these numbers for WhatsApp, Telegram, or Google?
Yes, thousands of verification codes from Google, WhatsApp, and Telegram pass through our pools daily. However, because public lines are shared, third-party platforms may occasionally flag or rate-limit numbers that received high registration volume. If one number fails, try an alternate number from the directory.
How frequently are messages refreshed?
Carrier direct numbers refresh via instantaneous server-sent webhooks (< 2s delivery latency). Aggregated community numbers are fetched on-demand when you load or refresh the inbox page, preventing wasted compute while ensuring fresh data.
What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP) server?
The SMSRiver MCP Server allows AI assistants (Claude Code, Cursor, Antigravity) to query available phone numbers, inspect inboxes, and dispatch synthetic SMS events directly inside your coding workflow without manually copying OTP codes.
